Alana is Running 4 Refugees

Story

Hey everyone! I am so stoked to be running 12kms with Levant Eatery to raise money for Asylum Seekers. All donations will go towards the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC). It is a basic human right to seek asylum, whether it is to flee from danger, abuse, corrupt governments, or poverty. The ASRC does an incredible job supporting thousands of asylum seekers and refugees every year. All donations will go towards providing food, healthcare, housing, and legal aid to those those who would otherwise be at risk. The ASRC truly goes above and beyond with their many services which includes employment pathway support programs, free full legal support and representation to clients, food security (ASRC Foodbank), case work, counselling, and much more.     The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement.

    As an independent not for profit organisation, we are owned and run by our community. Our programs empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well-being. As a movement, we mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change for people seeking asylum in Australia.

    We assist over 7,000 people seeking asylum each year from our centres in Footscray and Dandenong, Victoria.
